Log the whole stop without signal
Readings, chemical additions, photos, checklist items, service notes, skips and reschedules, even clock punches: everything a tech does at the pool works offline. The visit screen behaves the same with zero bars as it does on wifi.
Saves queue on the phone, then sync
Offline saves are stored on the device and upload automatically when signal returns. The queue survives closing the browser and even signing back in, and replays are deduplicated so a slow connection cannot double-log a visit or double a time-clock punch.
Today's route loads ahead of you
Open Today with signal (your driveway counts) and the app quietly caches every stop on the route: the visit, the pool record, and the customer page. An 'Offline ready' pill tells you the day is cached before you drive into the dead zone.
Half-typed work survives too
Readings you have entered but not yet saved are kept as a local draft. If the phone reloads, the browser crashes, or the OS kills the app between the test kit and the save button, the entries come back when you reopen the visit, marked as restored so you know to save them.
Built like a field tool
Straight answers about what offline covers
Offline works on what the app cached while it had signal. Today's route is cached automatically when you open Today online; pages you have never opened on that device need signal once. The app tells you plainly when a page is not available offline instead of pretending.
App updates cannot strand you either. When we ship a new version, the copy already on your phone keeps working offline, and the app brings itself up to date the next time it has signal, on its own.

Add PoolBeacon to the home screen and it opens full-screen with its own icon, no app store required, and updates arrive on their own. The field layout is phone-first: big tap targets, slider inputs you can work one-handed with wet hands, and a typeface chosen for readability in direct sun.
Offline questions, answered
- Does PoolBeacon work with no cell signal?
- Yes, for the work of the day. Open Today while you have signal and the route is cached to the phone: every stop's visit screen, pool record, and customer page. At the stop you can log readings, chemicals, photos, notes, and complete the visit with zero bars. It all syncs when signal returns.
- What happens to work I save while offline?
- It is stored on the device in a write queue and uploaded automatically on reconnect. The queue survives closing the browser and signing back in, and each queued save carries an idempotency key so a flaky connection cannot create duplicates.
- Is there an app to install?
- PoolBeacon is a web app you can add to your home screen from the browser, so it opens full-screen like a native app with nothing to download from an app store. Native iOS and Android apps are on the roadmap.
- What does offline NOT cover?
- Anything the phone has never seen. A customer page you have never opened on that device, or a brand-new work order created after you lost signal, needs a moment of connectivity first. The app is explicit about this instead of showing stale or broken screens.
