Ordered on real drive times
The day’s stops are sequenced on actual road-network drive times, not straight-line distance. Small routes get a provider-grade solver for the best order; bigger days use a full drive-time matrix with local improvement. Either way, the order reflects the roads you will actually drive.

Next to the optimized order, Today shows the miles and minutes saved versus your scheduled order, computed from your own route that morning. No invented fuel percentages: the app shows its work, every day, on your pools.
One tap to turn-by-turn
Tap Directions on any stop and it opens in Google Maps for navigation. The route map itself draws the real road path between stops, so what you see on the planning screen is the drive you are about to make.
Routes per tech, days that make sense
Each tech gets their own optimized day. On the planning side, the all-pools map can color by tech or by service day, so you can spot the pool stranded far from the rest of its route and move work between crews with a lasso instead of a spreadsheet.
Routing questions, answered
- Does it reorder my whole schedule?
- No. Optimization orders the stops WITHIN a day for the shortest drive; which day a pool is serviced stays your call, because service days are usually commitments to the customer. There is a separate planning map that colors pools by service day so you can rebalance days deliberately when you want to.
- Do I need special hardware or a GPS unit?
- No. It runs on the phone you already carry. PoolBeacon computes the order and the route line, and hands individual stops to Google Maps for turn-by-turn navigation.
- How do I know the optimization is actually helping?
- Today shows the saved miles and minutes versus your scheduled order, calculated from real road drive times for that specific day. If the optimizer cannot beat your order, it says so by showing nothing saved. We do not quote industry fuel-savings percentages; you see your own numbers.
- What does it need from my customer records?
- A street address that geocodes. When an address is incomplete, the pool is flagged instead of silently dropped, and the rest of the route still optimizes around the stops it can place.
