Put PoolBeacon on your home screen

It opens full screen like an app, with nothing to download from an app store. Once you have opened your route it keeps working in dead-zone backyards, and updates itself the next time you have signal.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open poolbeacon.com in Safari. On iPhone, Apple only lets you add to the home screen from Safari, not Chrome.
  2. Find the Share icon, a square with an arrow pointing up. If you do not see it, tap the More button (three dots) on the bottom right first, then tap Share.
  3. In the Share menu, scroll down (or tap More) and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add in the top corner. The PoolBeacon icon appears on your home screen.

Apple changes Safari from time to time, so the exact buttons may look a little different on your iPhone. The idea is always the same: open the Share menu, then find Add to Home Screen (you may have to scroll to see it). If you opened this link from inside another app, tap the menu in that app and choose Open in Safari first.

Android phone

  1. Open poolbeacon.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the menu (three dots, top right).
  3. Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen.

Computer

  1. Open poolbeacon.com in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Click the install icon in the address bar, or open the menu.
  3. Click Install PoolBeacon.
